Amalienborg - Palace

Info: Amalienborg Palace

Amalienborg Palace is the home of the Danish royal family. It consists of four identical classical palace facades with rococo interiors around an octagonal courtyard. In the centre of the square is a monumental  statue of Amalienborgs founder, King Frederick V. The Palace is designed by the architect Nicolai Eigtved in the 1750s. The Royal family moved into the Palace in 1794, after their old Residence Christiansborg Palace burnt down.
